The Related Terminal Services form enables you to add and edit a related terminal service.

You add a related terminal service when you want to relate a primary service and its associated  event type, with another service or event so that every time you perform a service or an event on a serviceable entity (container, goods, vessel visit, etc.), N4 also records the related terminal service or event.

To add or edit a related terminal service:

  1. In the Name field, enter a name that uniquely identifies the related service.

  1. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a short description for the related service.

  2. In the Event Type field, select the primary event with which you want to associate a related service. The primary event could either be a custom-defined, or a built-in event.

  3. In the Filter Criteria area, define a filter criteria that determines the conditions that must be matched in order for a terminal service to be associated with a related terminal service or event. For example, you might want to verify a container’s line operator before associating an administrative processing custom event with the unit discharge built-in event. Related terminal services are only recorded when all filter requirements are met.

  4. The Related Events area displays all events that apply to an entity based on:

  1. the event type you selected in step 3 above

  1. the filter criteria that you defined in step 4 above.

Select one or more events that you want to associate with the primary event from the Excluded column and move them to the Included column.

  1. Click Save.

Now, every time you perform the primary service or event on an entity, N4 records both the primary event as well as the related terminal service event on that entity.

If you add two related terminal services for the same primary event – one without the filter criteria and the other with the filter criteria, the related terminal services without the filter is applied by default and, the related terminal services with the filter will be applied provided the filter criteria is met.
